P0002 great now what??
I have put under 1000 miles on the car just bought it last month. Tonight I was driving home and the car seemed to go into limp mode. Restarted and it was fine until I gave it heavy acceleration and got the CEL and lost power.
Pulled the the code and got the p0002.
read some threads on it. One guy said it was the fuel filter in the tank. Other people are saying the hpfp. I’m concerned. Ike I said I just got the car and can’t afford a 2k repair bill. I’m pretty handy is their anything I can do myself?
i wonder if the “growling” noise was actually the fuel pump?
i asked them when I bought the car if that noise was normal and they said yes but everyone that gets in the car says wth is that noise and I tell them the dealer said it’s normal.
I hope I have a leg to stand on because their is no warranty on the car. Not sure how to proceed.

I bought the car less then 3 months ago and the growling noise was present then. I was told normal for this car. The noise stopped when the cel came on and it went into limp mode. Assuming the noise and the hpfp are related. Their has to be something they can do to help me out at the dealership just trying to figure out what my move should be. Go to the sales manager who sold me the car? Go directly to the service dept? Just sucks with such a big purchase only a few months in.

Just left dealer. It goes in Monday morning which is the first available loaner car. Sales manager said they can try and help me out but it has to go in and get looked at to determine what we need to do and what can be done.

Hope it works out for the best for you.
Maybe something for next time is when you hear a noise or question somethning a saleperson tells you, go drive some other same type of cars to see if it IS, in fact, normal. Or even ask on a forum such as this. Or even get it written in the contract that if the noise they say is normal causes problems within X length of time, they would cover the cost to fix it.

NEVER...EVER....trust what comes out of a car salesman's mouth. Unless you can get it is writing, it does not exist. See how this plays out. Might not even be what you think it is. At least give them the chance to make it right and then go from there. However, if it is out of warranty, I don't know that you really have any leverage in this case. Hopefuly it will wor out for you. Let us know how it goes.

it was also the mechanic that said the noise was normal to. So I went and trusted what him and the sales manager said. It is what it is. They do work for Mercedes so I’m sure they may lie and not tell me everything. I made them pull it into the service dept when I bought it just to verify.

So I just got the call. HPFP.
1800 parts and labor
dealer willing to take off 600.
Thoughts?
should I take it for a second opinion?
ive only had the car for 2 months so not sure how much of a stink I should make. Like should I call mb corporate. Should I just take the 600 and deal with it. I don’t know lol

I had them also do an ac evac and recharge included for the 1100. I mean it seems fair but I don’t know.

Why would your car need that? Was the A/C not working when you bought it? If so, they should fix that too or was the AC not working something you did not notice before you bought the car?

I was intermittently getting the red ac blinking light. I figured I would bring that up too. I have no warranty so wasn’t expecting much.

The pump sells for $461 at Parts.com so $696.75 for a dealer price isn't bad. Core charge there is $69 as well.
As for labor, I assume they went by the job book multiplied by whatever their posted hourly rate is.
It's behind you though... No use in crying over spent money!

I agree. Can’t change the past. It’s done and over with. At least this one is warrantied for 2 years lol.
