Hello All,
Been driving Mercedes cars since high school, started off with a 1997 c230, currently have a 2000 E320 4matic with less than 95k on it.
Looking to buy a 2013/2014 c300 4matic sport, now i have been looking at the sport AMG package with the different intirior styling and bigger tires. Any feed back on either Regular sport or AMG package (not actual AMG car)? my friend said that the AMG package has a rougher ride due to bigger tires. any thing i should be on the look out for when buying? i went to the dealer downtown chicago, they have a nice c300 4matic sport 2013, but the car had a smell to it, maybe flooded before or vomit lol..it was bad.
I stayed away from the 2013 and 2014 models because of the M276 V6 engine which is notorious for High Pressure Fuel Pump failures and engine rattling noise at startup due to the secondary timing chains which can be fixed by installing non-return valves (check valves). Attached is the PDF with details.
So I stayed away from all this and got a 2012 C300 4MATIC Sport with the M272 V6 engine and I couldn't be happier. I even got lucky and found a car with 5,920 miles on it only.
See i was looking at a 2012 my self also but thought why not go for the bigger engine and a little more hp, i test drove both the luxury and sport, coming from the e320 the sport was rougher but i enjoyed the handling overall.
im asking for the price listed as out of the door price, mileage is a worry but it drove clean. i noticed it has an accident but no details of how bad it was, im assuming body damage only.
I would have to know more about the accident damage. Maybe have the car inspected by a body shop. Ask for a VMI report showing warranty and service history.
That car is a sport not luxury. Has the amg package. It’s a good price but I’d probably pass on it. Have them give u a complete car fax. The thing to be wary of is the title change notice, it might be a salvage title which could be why it’s so cheap. Salvage/rebuilt cars are worth nothing.
It has the rare sport package with the alcantara seats with the read stitching and red seat belts. It also has the Harmon Kardon sound system and might have the pano roof, but that I can't tell for sure. Looks like a nice, well appointed car car, depending on the extent of the accident damage. Miles are pretty favorable too.
Ya i dont see many of the AMG sports package out here, waiting for a good catch. If the AMG sports package isnt available i dont mind the normal c300 4matic sport. 1 thing i heard from a friend is that the bluetooth wont connect with newer phones for music streaming until software is updated on the car.
