I have 2009 C350 with 17" wheels. My biggest concern is durability and ride quality.
I'm grappling with two challenges.
1. Find an 18" Wheel "Comparable" to 19" In Terms of Looks.
I know there's certain styles that can only be pulled off with a 19" which is not easy to find at least for me.
2. Good Construction With Cast Or Flow Formed.
I'm reading some horror stories.
a. Wheels requiring lots of weight to balance
b. Wheels cracking
I presume this is more an issue at 19"+
Here in Los Angeles, we have some serious potholes and bad road sections. Last thing I want is a bent rim.
Q 1. I presume 18" wheels with a 45 offset would have enough sidewall?
Q 2. Thoughts Or Suggestions? I would be appreciate your input.
I'm looking at two wheels (Both Machined) which does not offer much info.
MRR HR9:
TSW Chicane.
MY taste in wheels gets better later in this thread. Read on...

My friend has flow formed 18's and he has some bent wheels, mine are cast 19's and are perfectly fine. Really it depends on the construction.
I saw my wheel in 18" on another c300 on forums here I think and man, I am so happy I went with 19's. 18's practically look stock, too small to make a 'pop'.

I think the bottoms are too basic
Ok, so you would pick the MRR over the TSWs? Do you have a pic of your car and what your size and offsets you're running?
The HR9s, while cast, seem like a fender wheel anyways. Lighter is better off the line, and better for mpg, but it's not a deal killer as our oem 17"s aren't that light. Going to 19's, didn't feel huge difference.

I can post pics later, didn't see that message.
Or just look @300konig on instagram
I've been putting this off. Now I'm looking at Avant Garde flow formed vs Vertini Flow Formed. The AG are considerably more. Decisions, Decisions....

My 2014 C300 4matic Sport Plus model sedan has the Factory 18 inch AMG black wheels with a machined face and they look amazing in the car I love the look and the design of them on The car but the wheels still need to be at least a 19 to really pop, and heck with some of the darker wheels it almost requires a 20 to give it that Bam Yeah I got custom new rims look to it! I personally dont want to go down to a 25 series side wall on my rears nor down to a 30 series on my front so I personally dont want to go with a 20 on my car at all either but a 19 looks just about perfect! Mine is still a work in progress at this point as I am in the midst of blacking everything out now and doing a chrome delete essentially and I still need to install my carbon side skirt extentions on the car that I have for it and I have my new carbon fiber 3 fin grille coming this week with no emblem so that I can rock with a Hood emblem On my car instead of the huge Grille emblem that I have in it currently! This is my car with the factory staggered 18 inch sport plus wheels on it though! They surely dont look bad on the car at all by any means but they have definitely got a factory look and styling to them in an 18 inch wheel in my Opinion though so I'm wanting to step up to a set of 19s but I'm taking the car to have it appraised for insurance purposes as soon as it's all finished finally but I'm having it appraised with the factory 18s on the car since I plan to go with a 19 inch vossen set of wheels that I like but they are not worth as much as the factory 18 inch AMGs on my car in the insurance companies eyes so I'm leaving them on until after appraisal
