M271 chain question

Hi, I have a family members c180 2008 with m271 engine which had a cam crank correlation fault.
stripped top off to check and chain has jumped two teeth and the cam gear sprockets are worn.
i said I can change the cam gears and chain by feeding the new after the old and rivet the master link.
I’d really want to do the whole set, guides and crank sprocket but don’t want to get involved in removing the front cover.
my question is do the crank sprockets suffer the same as the cam sprocket? If so I’d tell him to get it done at a garage. Or do they usually survive with little wear possibly?
thanks
andy

Its unlikely that the crank sprocket are also worn but the only way to know for sure is to remove the front cover. Also to change both guides you have to remove the front cover. Also consider changing the tensioner while you are at it.
