I have a 2010 C250 CGI Avantgarde, without sport package. I am thinking of replacing the brake discs.
On every website, there is a comment for the brake discs, whether is it produced for cars with, or without sport package.
The drilled discs are meant to build into cars with sport package.
I would like to replace the actual discs for drilled ones.
And the question is: Could it be a problem, if I replace the actual, stock (non-sport) discs for driled (sport) ones? Because basically they are produced for cars witch sport package.
However, the brake pads and calipers on my car will remain the stock, non-sport package brake pads.
Will the drilled brake discs with the standard brake pads and calipers work well? As far as I know, dimensionally they are the same, so there shouldn't be any fitting problem.
I am just afraid about the stock brake pads with the sport brake discs.
Because my brake pads and calipers are designed for the non-sport brake discs.
Completely compatible, no issues whatsoever. BTW, "drilled" is a misnomer, almost all now are made with cast-in holes. Drilling was what people did years ago but weakens the metal and can lead to cracking at the holes. Cast-in holes are much more durable.
And, also btw, rotors with holes cannot be machined with common brake lathes. Practically, not too big of a loss because rotors today are so close to min spec that you often don't have enough material to turn one anyway.
Okay, from production technologie side maybe the "drilled" is not the correct word, but sound better, than writing "brake discs / rotors with holes" every single time.
English is not my native language, but if I translate "rotor with holes" to my language, it sounds pretty mean
All you need to care about is the rotor and brake pad specification, I mean the size measurement.
I've brought the whole set "drilled and slotted" rotors with ceramic pads on ebay,
The price is much more affordable and also great improved braking power.
Just swapped the solder rears on my '11 Sport 4Matic today. It's a fairly low-mile car I bought off my brother in August, and the solid rears have bugged. I had a gift card to use up, and Tire Rack had Stop Tech cryo rear rotors on clearance for $75. Should have thought to pick-up new center caps...
My buddy’s who’s a mechanic at a dealership is installing Powerstop ‘drilled’ break kit on mine shortly after New Years. And the parts didn’t have any conflict when ordering, but then again I do have the sport package so not sure if there’s a difference in wheel size or something between luxury version and sport.
My 2014 c300 came with the drilled rotors, I also replaced this summer for my slk
rotors front & rear all calipers and new lines, I bought stop tech drilled / vented, and ceramic pads.
They are nice I bought the same for my sienna minivan also.
I did buy new stoptech ceramic pads for my c300 but they have not been installed.
I haven't decided on pads... People seem really happy with Akebono. I've used Hawk HPS and EBC Redstuff pads. Been happy with both. Would be happy with either... May consider the Brembo pads as well.
For the w204 c300 there were different brake packages, mostly it is the sport/sport plus did actually have bigger brakes then luxury models, but I heard that the sport/sport plus c250 outside(?) the USA had a fixed caliper design big brake system as well.
i am pretty fanatical about brakes, I don’t play around. I have had very good luck and experiences using OEM pads and Zimmerman rotors. The OEM pads perform very well, they are quiet and grab really good. The akebono pads are ceramic, meaning they perform well when they are hot, but when cold they don’t stop the car the best and I’ve heard people almost getting into accidents because the pads were still cold. Zimmerman is one of the high quality tier manufacturers, they manufacture the OEM rotors for a lot of the Mercedes cars/SUV’s. Their quality is top notch! I really don’t think you will find a better rotor manufacturer for our car. So, I would use the correct Zimmerman rotors (I said there are 2 different brake pkgs), for pads if you are a normal driver I would use OEM pads, if you are a heavy foot(which I am) and stop hard a lot I would consider akebono pads, or still be likely fine with OEM. I prefer OEM sensors as well. It’s vital you have the job done right for everything to last as well.
this is were i buy my car parts from you need to decide yourself what it is to order but they have the specs so you will know without saying i think or i guess. If it say's a 322mm roto will fit a sport / lux /4matic, well chances are pretty good that is acurite
I don't think there was a difference in brakes between the Sport and Luxury models. It is only the C63 with a different brake setup.

there actually is a difference, depends on the packages the car has. Usually sport models seem to have the upgraded brakes. Mercedes sport brake are a different part number for pads and rotors. Best thing for OP is to call the dealer and find out. Then make a decision on where to buy.
Yes I agree, you do need to do you work and become educated to order the correct compatible parts, it is certainly more complicated than putting a penny in a gumball machine.

Sport trim does not have bigger brakes....
Just because a manufacturer splits the parts out by the trim level name does not mean the parts are specific to that trim level only. There is a difference in what came OE. The manufacturers are going to list their parts the same way.
However, just as Power Stop shows their rotors -drilled or not- can be used on any (non C63) trim level. so do other manufacturers.
