Steering wheel controls.

The right steering wheel control is de-laminating on the mute button. I've searched the internet and found a few options:

1. Replacement button decals:

Do you think they would hold up/not peel off over time?

1. Chrome Button Covers:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Chrome-ABS-...MAAOSwYIxYAOvI

They use double sided tape to adhere to the front of the control buttons. At first I thought that might be a good option till I realized that the trim that surrounds the buttons is also chrome.

3. Replacement controls:

My question is this: These controls come from China. Now I hate to stereotype, but how can i verify that they are genuine Mercedes controls? I'm asking because these are the only controls that are listed as new. I'd rather not buy used ones that look like it.

What makes the most sense? I'm thinking that to do it right, I should go with replacement controls. Does anyone know where I can source the buttons in the US for a decent price?

I would buy the new one on EBay. Some Chinese company is probably the OEM for these things, so decent chance you're getting the same exact part sold in a bag with a MBZ label. Further supporting this theory: there aren't enough of these cars for a robust aftermarket, so the odds of someone copying the OEM part to produce and sell a small number isn't that high. If we're talking something for a Camry, that's one thing, for a W204 Mercedes, a whole different world.

My .02 ...

You make a good point. The car is rather low volume and the chance of getting an aftermarket part is slim since there is no incentive. we're not talking NFL Jerseys here. I just wish the part came from the US as packages from China take forever. at least it's new and will make my car look the way it should.
