Does the manual transmission c300 require a different power steering pump?
Hi,
Last night on my way home an error message popped up and the power steering pump on my 2008 c300 sport started malfunctioning; the car is now very difficult to steer at low speeds, however, I can still hear the pump working and the issue seems to improve at high rpm's. I've been looking through various websites to purchase a new pump and noticed that many of them seem to specify "automatic" or "manual" transmission in the description (ex: Rockauto). Do I need to buy a specific power steering pump for my manual transmission c300, or will any pump meant for the c300 work? It just seems odd to me that the manual transmission would require a different pump than the automatic. Thanks for the help!
