Bumper scuff - is this a DIY job?

Hi all, I've been lurking for months now, mainly because all my questions have been answered just by searching the forums, however, this is one where I need some opinions. When I bought my car a couple years ago, the only body scratches it had was under the front bumper. At first I thought I could live with it, but now I'm sick of seeing it and just want to fix it for good. What I can't decide is if I should attempt to fix it myself or just pay a body shop to do it. I have no bodywork experience, but I figure it's as simple as sanding the spot, priming, and painting. What I'm nervous about is that the paint won't blend well with the rest of the bumper and will still be noticeable. What do you think?

I think if you get a silver that's close enough and paint that whole triangular section, you won't notice it at all, because light will never hit it at the same angle as adjacent sections, which is usually how I tell if panels aren't the same color. I think there's also companies that mix OEM paints and put them in aerosol cans for easy DIY stuff like this.

Good point. I don’t care if it’s not perfect because it’s not at eye level. I just don’t want the paint to be glossier/shinier than the rest of the bumper.

This! Get the right paint code and go for it.

If you are going to diy, I would recommend using touchupdirect for the OEM paint. I had some smaller scratches on my 2014 C300 on the front end as well. I bought the kit that includes everything you need.

Find your local “Auto Finishers” and have them mix you OEM areaol cans if you don’t have a SATA.

Look up how to fold over the tape for a “seemless” edge. Don’t just hard mask.
Like previously stated, paint the entire lower triangle.

Prep. Properly and Paint.
Auto Finishers will help you, just ask.

Thanks for the recommendations. I live in Canada (just updated my profile), so by the time I'm done with the shipping and exchange costs I may as well buy it from the dealer. I found a couple similar Canadian based paint suppliers nearby so I'll see how much they quote for mixing an OEM aerosol can.
