2008 C350 - Vibration and Front Subframe Bushing
Hi,
There's been a constant and growing vibration on my car. The latest diagnosis is that the "Front Subframe Bushings" are gone and need to be replaced. I called the dealer to get the price for the part and dealer said there is no such a thing as Subframe Bushing" for the front on this car!! Dealer said there is for the rear but not for the front!!
Has anyone heard of such part?
Also, if such part exist, could the vibration caused by the bushing wear out?

I think I misheard the name of the piece.
Talked to my mechanic again and he said, the part that needs to be replaced is the front bushing of the Rear-Subframe. He said there are 4 bushing on the rear subframe which the front two are gone. He quoted $1400 to do the job. Is it usually costs that much?! Sound a bit too much to me!

Looking at WIS and EPC, I see no evidence of any bushings. The engine cradle/axle carrier is bolted directly to the unit-body frame with no bushings. I know on some vehicles, they do have "bearings" which are basically metal tubes isolated in a rubber surround that the bolt passes through. But like I said, I do not see that part or procedure listed, so I believe the dealer is correct - no bushings. Besides the obvious sources of vibration such as tires, worn suspension components, and wheel bearings, other culprits include the driveshaft flex plates and the center support bearing.
