mercedes c300 4matic sport
Transmission question
Hi, I'm new to this site, I have a 2010 c300 4matic, my car start making a noise that I was told it's from the transmission bearing. My question is, should I do a drain and filled transmission fluid change? My mechanic told me he doesn't recommend changing it in this situation, The fluid never been changed but if I do drain and filled may be safer!

NO LONGER ACTIVE
Can you describe the noise? Also, the theory about not changing old transmission fluid is really not applicable to modern transmissions. I'd change it anyway.

If that is indeed the torque converter banging then yeah a fluid change probably won’t do you much good.
