I couldn't believe the difference black side markers made when I made the switch from the standard orange. If you have black rims and tinted windows I highly recommend! Very easy and cheap switch to make.
I replaced the entire side marker with a black version. Found a set on eBay for around $50 if I remember correctly. The LED light inside adds to the look as well.
I was too cheap to spend $50 on reflectors, and also I heard about fitment issues (maybe not on facelift ones though) so I Plasti dipped mine white. Obviously it's not an exact color match (didn't expect it to be) but I like it. This way people can see how it looks like either way on white cars. Also, at night the side marker is fully visible lit up, with a slight white tint.
