Soaking wet carpets behind driver's seat - please help.
Hi all,
I'm getting soaking wet carpets and pools of water in the rear passenger footwell, driver's side only. All my drains are clear around the windshield and there is no evidence of water entering through the air box.
I removed the under trays, pulled back the carpets and popped the grommets in the floor and to my horror, there was a huge amount of water. I don't have a sunroof on my car so it's not that which I understand is a common issue.
Really at a loss now as I can't seem to find the source! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
TIA

Any signs whatsoever on headliner? Thinking if there is something going on with the roof rack mounting points.
Check the date codes on your windshield and rear window. Perhaps one was replaced and sealed poorly.

I did spot a pipe that runs under the carpet on the driver's side. Not sure what it is though? As you can see, quite wet around there.

inspect the weatherstripping for the door on the body, check for deformities or cracks. If nothing, try coating baby powder on the weatherstripping(make sure everything is dry, close the door fully then open. Look for any odd impressions on the weather stripping, should be uniform. If not decent chance weatherstripping is deformed.

The only thing I have noticed is that the seal around one of the wiper arms by the scuttle is allowing the smallest of drips onto the back of the fuse box in the engine bay. A red herring perhaps and surely not not enough of a bad seal to create the wet carpets but needs fixing.

I have a 2009 C220 CDI sport saloon without a sunroof. So it rained a little this morning which presented a good opportunity to check the weather stripping and seals......Bone dry.
