AC unit turns on by itself randomly
My 2008 C300's AC unit randomly turns on by itself every 5-10 minutes or so. Any idea as to why this could be happening, and how it can be fixed?

I don't know that you are actually having a problem. Do you have it in Auto mode? Or maybe Defrost? If so, the A/C could go on if moisture would need to be taken out of the air. That would be normal. Now if you would not have the climate control on at all and the A/C would then randomly come on, that would be a different story. What are teh circumstances when it comes on?

Does this happen every time you drive the car or just occasionally? So, you do not have the fans running to circulate air or the heat going while driving the car? The panel is always off and the A/C comes on? Then I have no clue. Sorry.

Correct, I generally leave them off, and this only happens while the climate control is off. It consistently happens when I drive the car every 5-10 minutes or so. Hopefully someone else on here has any other idea. This is very strange.
