I just changed my bank 2 sensor 2 O2 sensor and spark plugs (13 C300 m276) and didn't re-insert ignition coil #6 properly. I started the car and heard the misfire and immediately (ran for less than 10 seconds) shut it down with a flashing CEL. Ran a diagnostic (torque pro) and got misfire in cyl. 6 and also code P0611. I fixed the misfire issue, bc I'm an idiot buttoned it back up and fired her up. She is running as smooth as ever and I don't have any CEL but scanning shows pending fault P0611 still. Any ideas? She is still running while I wait for operating temp to verify emissions scan.

Did you try clearing the error after you fixed the problem? The code won't go away on its own if you don't clear it. It's now stored until cleared.
As it turns out this code was in correlation to a recall campaign (2019040001) regarding the ECU/PCM requiring an update due to erroneous fault codes being presented. I called MBUSA and they couldn't give me specifics on what code is given by the ECU/PCM fault but did contact my local dealership, who incidentally had just done the recall on my car, and set up a no-charge diagnosis. It apparently has to do with the fuel injector identification being erased and was determined to be caused by the update. The tech reprogrammed the injectors back to spec and so far, so good.
I just had the same issue. After "ME update" got a check engine light with code P0611. If cleared, it comes back in a mile or two of driving. Took it back in today and the work sheet says "injector codings weren't written down during ME update last visit". They put it into SDS and all's well. Would've been nice if they'd washed the car given an unnecessary return.
So if they do this service campaign, be sure and pick the car up before the end of the day, and go right back if you get a CEL. And MB needs some better software or training.
Wow thanks for the info! My CEL is on and the error came back P0611 and just had the car campaign 2019040001 done to my w204. I'm relieved it's nothing more serious as my car has close to 90k miles. Hopefully the dealer will correct the issue and that darn light stays off.
Hopefully Mercedes is watching all these do-overs. It's sloppiness in the procedure or maybe the software. In my case, they clearly put it off until the last job of the day, so I thought they just rushed it. But it appears a lot of techs are making the same mistake.
This happened to my 2013 E350 after the airbag recall (with the ECU recall also being performed concurrently) and couldn't pass smog with the CEL. Couldn't find anything on Google but this one thread. Took it to the dealer today and the initial check-in clerk was so smug and superior - acted like all of us on the forums are idiots. Of course, *he* had no idea what trigger a P0611 but he was adamant "none of our techs would make such a mistake." Had to turn into an ******* customer to get the manager to waive the diagnostics fee. And guess what? Just as above. The fuel injectors were wiped from SDS and had not been re-coded. Out the door for $0.
I expect more from MB. Especially not being treated like an idiot when I did the legwork to investigate a problem they created (of course, you all did more work than me!).
As written on my receipt (it's in all caps so sorry for that):
"PERFORMED QUICK TEST. FAULT CODE P061194. OUTPUT STAGE FAULT OF CONTROL UNIT, UNEXPECTED INSTRUCTION. INJECTION QUANTITY IS READING AT 0. RECOMMEND PERFORMING RECALIBRATION OF FUEL INJECTORS."
So is this a result of the fuel injectors not being coded into the ME update (2019040001)?
I didn't even ask how much they'd charge to do the above recommendation.
If anyone can advise which service locations are aware of this situation with the ME update to talk with the service manager I'm dealing with to clear this up so I don't get charged for a CEL caused by this forced update. ty
Mercedes Benz of St Clair Shores Michigan wants to charge me $300 to reprogram the car. They told me the ME update has nothing to do with the fuel injector info being wiped out. So after all is said and done I'm gonna have to pay $450 for something I'm most certain was caused by the update that was forced on me.
Side note, the same service rep when I had the update done told me I needed to change my brake pads and that they don't have sensors, which I knew immediately was false. Seems shady all around.
The dealer reprogrammed my car and refunded the 150. All's well with the world again.
yo bro what do I have to say to get this done to my car I bought my car preowned and came with check engine light same code p0611 fuel injector control module
I had it check and was told the injectors are not coded
