I managed to find out that it is part of the intake. The full part has to be replaced as that piece isn't sold separately, taping it temporarily.

Yoi can find that piece on eBay. Listed as air intake repair kit (part no 271 090 1929). Considerably cheaper than replacing the whole unit.
My car went in for a service in the week and tbey noted the hose needs replacement but I could still drive with it. Not s bad as yours. Still attached to the main intake assembly and you have to pull on it to see the crack in the pipe.
The full air intake hose is quite expensive and was replaced in 2016 (when still under the maintenance plan). From my google research, the small hose is a known weak spot and I'm planning to replace just this piece. I posted a question earlier today on an older thread about it - how to repair / replace it..
