Trunk not sitting flush

Hi all. First want to start off by saying I am new to the forums and somewhat new to the Euro car community. Always had imports my entire life but since I started a new job a few years ago working with Euro car parts I decicded to buy a Euro car. Picked up a 2011 c300 4matic sport for a good price about 6 months ago (w204). Few odds and ends I had to fix on it and almost have the car completely done.

An issue I've had since I bought the car is the trunk doesn't line up on both sides. The passenger side sits up and isn't flush with the rear end. I've added some pictures. I've tryed adjusting the hex shaped adjusters in the inside lining of the trunk but any which way I adjust them doesn't do anything at all.

Heres the good side:

Any suggestions? Am I missing something? Please any suggestions / opinions would be greatly appreicated.

Car has been in a crash----look to MB WIS for install\adjustment procedure. Because you are new that means taking the car to a collision shop for repair

Seems to be something not looking right with this pic. What is that, did you close the trunk on something?

You can adjust the tightness of the trunk closer by adjusting the latch with its 2 either 8 or 10 mm nuts but that appears as though it is from improper closure and something may be bent.

Car has never been in a crash bought it from someone in my family. I just got information that the gas cap was in between the trunk one day and the trunk was closed several times before the owner realized the cap was in the way. Since then the trunk has never closed correctly.

The picture with the blue circle around it is just the wire in the trunk it is not actually stuck in between like you see it in the picture. It's hanging there cause I have the trunk ripped apart. No matter where I place that wire which is not in the way of the trunk closing the trunk still sits as it does in the picture.

Your best bet is going to be to open trunk and to try and twist your trunk lid a bit pushing right side down lifting left side up. See if you can bend hinge back as I'm sure if you look closely somewhere it will be stretched up, out, down or in some fashion. Read a couple threads where similar happened. Either that or go to shop and ask if they can "Align" the trunk.

It's not going to be an easy twist of the bump stops or anything, it''l have to be more muscled back down I'd say.

Fix

Hello I had same exact issue. What I did to fix was pull on the lower right corner of the trunk lid when it's open. I grabbed on and leaned my weigh back a few times while pulling a bit.
