I used standard JB weld in the two tubes. I used it liberally and then let it sit a full 24 hours before putting it back together or poking at it at all. If it was a much newer Benz with more value, I would not have done this repair. But hey, its still working and I have inspected it several times since I did it and looks great. There is not a lot of wiggle room for that intermediate shaft bearing, it seats itself pretty well. Just needs to be held in place. So far so good!
Do you remember if you scored seating area with sandpaper before jb weld ?
No I did not, I just really, really cleaned up the surface before doing it. Do not want any oil, grease or dirt getting in there. This has been several years now and it is still holding up well. Good luck
Finally got the broke pan out. Had to make a run to Lowe's for a 12mm hex bit to get access to the last two bolts holding the pan on. Now to begin assembly...
I don’t know if anybody is still on this thread, I’m currently changing my upper oil pan on my 2009 c300 4matic. It was a pain of a job so far, I have the new pan in with the bolts snug letting the gasket maker dry, I can’t find the torque specs anywhere do you know the specs for the car?

Not 100% sure on what exact model you have without a VIN, but these torques are for both the c300 T-model and c300 4matic limousine.
Well over a year later and this epoxy fix is still holding strong!
wow, this is amazing.. I wish I had read more about this before damaging my oil pan as well hammering out the axle. But this is great! Now just out of curiosity I saw the pics. Did you epoxy the bearing into the seat? Is that what you did? I want to try going down this route first. My car has 165k and like you i don’t want to get rid of it. It looks great, but would like to avoid having to go thru all the work now to replace the oil pan. As a last resort I guess I will, but would definitely like to try this first.
