My other car is a 2005 Mazda6 wagon that I swapped to interior LEDs more than 10 years ago, and I've always been thrilled with the change. Finally swapped my '11 C300 tonight with same result.
I stumbled across a 16 LED (15 standard, 1 festoon) kit ECS Tuning has on sale right now for $49, marked down from $100. Got everything but the license plate LEDs installed tonight, and I couldn't be happier. Not too bright by any stretch. These are a daylight temp - I am warm temp person. They still look great. With the help of a couple You Tube clips to explain how to remove certain housings, I had it done in no time at all.
Only issue i ran into is something that anyone who has used Type 168/194 LEDs has experienced- if it doesn't work, rotate it 180 deg and try again. It appears the kit replaces every bulb (even door splash) except for the trunk. No problem for me since I have pair of sealed LED 'pods' I purchased off Amazon, and I want the greater light they produce for use in the trunk.
The kits on ECS' site are a little bit confusing. Searching by vehicle, they have the 16 LED kit marked down from $100 to $49. They then have a 22 LED (21 168/194, 1 festoon) kit for $150. Well, naturally I purchased 2 of the 16 LED kits for $49/ea, assuming I'd needed the extra LEDs for (whatever). Well, doesn't appear I do... Maybe I'll throw a couple of them into my side markers and keep the rest for backups.
The pictures aren't 100% honest. The before looked a bit darker and more yellow than the camera portrays. The After is not 'BRIGHT!!!'. It is simply a nice, crisp, useful amount of light that makes the interior look more modern, more high-end.
Because the center in front of head dome lights have such big white reflector housings many times bigger than the LED bulb when I fitted these it just burned my eyes with the brightness .
I gave up and fitted brighter than stock 955 16W halogen bulbs .
I've a full 6000K LED interior kit in a VW but because the housings are small there's no glare .
