Hi
I am having some troubles with brittle wiring insulation on my front lamp assembly harness. Specifically on the side lamps above the main head lamps.
My local technician recommended to replace the whole headlamp assembly when I asked him to change the bulb for me, as he cannot deal with the finicky wiring. It's understandable as the wires strip pretty much on touch.
That solution seems a bit drastic but I have smelled some burning plastic from that area and need to do something about it to avoid a fire.
I'm thinking of just removing the power from the sidelights and retiring those bulb features to solve my issue.
Can that be done by removing a fuse (if so which fuse circuit) or is there a better way of making my wiring safe?
Thanks!

If not already, replace the bulb with an LED type, make sure the wattage is lower than before.
