2009 Mercedes Benz C300
Auto Lamp Function Inoperative
I drive a 2009 C300. Not sure if this was the cause but after changing out my windshield wipers one day, I received an “Auto Lamp Function Inoperative” message on my dash. Looked on the forum for similar incidents but only got partial identical incidents.
Most people claimed their windshield wipers wouldn’t work or their DRL wouldn’t work. However, my windshield wipers worked fine. The only thing that didn’t work was my eyebrow lights. They typically stay on for a brief moment after locking my vehicle since I leave my lights on auto.
I changed out my Light/Rain sensor in hopes it would solve the issue and it slightly did. Lights work fine now but I still have the error message. Although, my auto brightness for my nav screen no longer works now either. I have to manually switch it from day to night in the display settings. Any tips?
SOLVED
Ran the code and got “B225F54 The Light sensor has a malfunction. Calibration is missing.”
Took it to a certified Mercedes mechanic and got it calibrated for $100.
