Dead screen and indicator playing up
Had the w204 for just over years and really do love it. Started having a couple of issues a few weeks ago. Got the pop screen which like everyone else started flickering, then smoke, then died. Radio works OK but no screen, tried everything from checking fuses to clearing everything out. When I pulled the fuse from the head unit it reset the language on my instrument cluster to German and I can't change it back to English due to sat nav screen not working. Annoying but least of my problems.
Main issues are screen being dead and also indicator playing up. When I indicate tight and take the turn, when the wheels straighten up, the indicator flashes left.. A few people have had this issue and replaced the hazard light switch, didn't help me.
Sadly I've had to get an SUV due to growing family so I want to resolve these issues before selling my w204 on.
Anyone know where I can get a screen from, nothing on
ebay. Also, any ideas what's going on with the indicators?
TIA

If you do a Google Search of the W204 LCD other parts supplier's will come up..this LCD screen is the big one for Command with NAV.. Some sell the used part with the whole motorized flip up assembly..I paid $400 for that used. You Tube has multiple DIY's how to remove the flip screen unit, how to put in Service Mode to access the LCD screen and remove. The LCD alone involves taking apart the metal screen assembly and inserting the connector ribbons..those connector are brittle and usually break. If you go this route, eyeball how the ribbon inserts carefully, reinsert the new one and stick a dab of superglue on plastic part to secure. Sorry..just saw you had the screen out already !!
Good luck..having the radio screen dead does screw up finding, changing settings .
