unused wire/plug under glovebox
I was changing the cabin filter the other day and getting ready to reinstall the panel under the glovebox, when I noticed this wire/plug hanging there unplugged. Note, this is not the one that plugs into the little bulb on the panel, as I had already plugged that one back in.
Not sure if it was accidentally unplugged when the panel was removed, and no idea where to plug it back in, so I just reinstalled the panel as-is, and all seems to be well (no check engine/warning lights or loss of any functionality as far as I can tell).
Any idea what this wire/plug is for, or if it's supposed to be disconnected for some option that I don't have? (I have an 08 C300 with only the multimedia package and automatic tranny as options). Seems odd for there to be some unused wire/plug hanging there so just making sure it's supposed to be that way...

temp sensor
When I last renewed my filter, I think HVAC registered missing sensor... had to clear the code.

A pic of the sensor would also be useful so I can see if it's missing (even though I don't recall anything falling out)

Some posts tell of a ambient temp sensor located on the interior surface of the plastic panel covering the PS side center tunnel, interior foot well area .
