W204 Fuel Sending Unit Replacement DIY? Ever see one this bad?

Hey everyone. I've searched here and a few other places, and I can't find a DIY for the W204 fuel sending unit replacement specific to the W204 (2013 C300). I bought this car for a family member a few years ago and apparently the smell inside the cabin and outside has been going on for a while now, but nobody told me.

There's approximately 150K on the clock. It's in great condition and other than a few minor age related issues, it's been a reliable car. Looking at the picture I've attached, this has been going on for a while (even before we purchased it).

I'm trying to determine if I can replace the sending unit, seals and sensor without touching the fuel pump, and which part #'s I need to order. It looks like the actual sending unit is 2184700694. But from a few posts and pictures I've seen, it looks the tubing that connects the sending unit to the fuel pump may dictate a replacement of the pump as well, or at least some minor surgery.

Has anyone done this on the W204 without replacing the pump, and is there a definitive list of current part #'s for everything that needs to be replaced?

Thanks!

I thought I had a parts inventory going but now I'm confused...

This appears to be the sending unit and fuel filter assembly, for $200 less than just the sender unit by itself. And then there's this, which matches the part # in my car right now.

I think the first part that is $200 less is for PZEV vehicles, which mine isn't. So, mystery partially solved.

Also, it looks like I can maybe remove the pump on the right side temporarily to run the hoses from the sending unit, without having to replace the pump. I believe the second part I quoted above is what I want (the whole assembly).

I *think* this parts list will get me sorted:
Fuel Pump Assembly O-Ring
Product ID: 025-997-18-45
Remove $24.99 Quantity $24.99
Retainer Ring
Product ID: 001-471-14-30
Remove $47.99 Quantity $47.99
Fuel Sender Unit
Product ID: 218-470-09-94
Remove $303.99 Quantity $303.99
