Exclamation C300 Battery Cable Bolts

This weekend I changed my battery and a one in a million shot I dropped the the tool and it made contact with both terminals for a brief second (Should have been wearing gloves and the terminals should have been covered) Live and learn.. No damage to the car or anyone. Now I can't get the nut to tighten on the positive cable. I managed to seat the terminal on the post and place the positive indicator cover to help keep it in place for now.

After the embarrassing story .. What size is the but/bolt for the terminal and can I use smaller bolt cutters to get it off?

Thank you for your help in advance

A 10mm wrench fits on the 10mm nut which is on a 6mm diameter shafted bolt with a 10mm head. You can't break loose the "welded" nut by using 2 10mm wrenches or sockets ? Assume you buggered up the threads distal to the nut so you can't tighten, right ?
