Cost of ATF change

I have a 2014 C350, purchased new in 2015. I changed the ATF at 70K and now have 104K miles. My next scheduled change, according to the manual is 140K but I'm thinking of getting it done earlier, maybe at 130K I contacted the local MB dealer and asked them what would be the cost of an ATF change. The quoted price was $800! This is not a power flush, it's just a drain and fill ,which takes about 6 quarts. Granted, its a 7-speed transmission, not a CVT but 800 dollars? I have an indie mechanic who does my oil/filter changes so I'll probably see if he can do it when the time comes. I know he'll charge me much less, maybe 200 dollars.

Does 800 dollars sound like an exorbitant amount to pay for an ATF change?

Any Indy European shop can do it for between $400.00 to $500 or less. For this type of work on a 2014 model I would avoid the dealer.

One of two dealers near me matched my indie mechanic's estimate of $450 for fluid change and filter within the last year. It doesn't hurt to bring them the estimate and check.
