C63 steering rack in C300
Some may dismiss this as pointless and they may be right but anyone ever try or think of this? You can get a used C63 steering rack for ~$175. It's a different part number than the regular C300 rack so it's different in some way. Perhaps tighter steering? Guess it would be a gamble-install as far as seeing any results.

I know there are cheaper alternatives. The $4896 quote is from Englewood Benzel-Busch in NJ, a very high end and, up to now, good dealer, but with very high end prices. They are also trying to get Mercedes to cover this under warranty as it goes way past normal wear and tear. Being a dealer, I don't know how much flexibility they have or want to extend to me. Since this is the 4th Mercedes I have from this same dealer I hope they want to keep me as a customer.
