2010 C300 interment ignition issues
I am having occasional ignition issues with my 2010 C300. Sometimes when I insert the key fob in the steering column and turn the key, nothing happens - absolute dead silence when I turn the key. If I extract the fob and reinsert it, this generally solves the problem and the car starts up. This happens more frequently when the outside and inside temps are high. One other thing I've noticed is the sound made when I first insert the fob is different when the car starts vs. when it won't. The best way I can describe it is that when the car won't start, inserting the key makes a "think" sound, but when it does start, the sound is a slightly louder and resonating "THUNK."
