I would NOT put any grease on that bearing or anywhere near it. You dont want the outer part of the bearing being able to spin. If all the parts and surfaces are properly cleaned and you are installing a Genuine Mercedes or OE bearing it should fit nicely.

I would just use some of the GKN cv axle grease I already have which has molybdenum disulfide in it . I wouldnt put much thought into it, its more like a while its out lets put some grease on it to hopefully keep it from rusting. Or I have some Molykote GN paste on hand. Or I also have some Red and Tacky grease. Anything labeled for high loads, heavy wear, high pressure, anti-seizing...

How tight of a fit are you seeing, are they not fitting together easily by hand fit?
