Loud rattle at ~1250 rpm 2013 w204 c250

thank you for your reply we are trying to find a solution to fix our cars so many people has the same issue with their cars of course i will not pay the $9000 I just mentioned how Mercedes dealership did know how to fix the issue .
And i have mentioned what part they replaced trying to fix it but with no luck
if i wanna trade it in or sell i will not waste my time looking for a solution

please let me know what did you found about that noise my car car the same problem i took it to Mercedes dealership few times the last time they took 3 months looking for that issue and this is what they did trying to fix it
replaced vacuum pump
replaced camshaft
replaced oil pressure pump
checked the lifters
and after all that didn’t fix the issue, they need to take the engine out and check it from the bottom and that will cost me $9000 just labor no parts
i have 2015 slk250 1.8 turbo the same engine for c250 it had 25k mileage when the issue started now it had 44k
please if anyone knows what should i do ? I spend so mush money on and nothing fixed the noise getting louder no check engine light .

Skimmed this discussion and have two questions. The first is, any codes? The second is were any heat shields checked?
Bonus observation: if the problem persisted 30k or more miles, it’s probably more annoying than destructive.

From what i read in other forums. They all say its the camshaft adjuster. It can create start up issues and has to be replaced While not an immediate safety concern, the camshaft adjuster failure could lead to engine failure anytime

I have changed gaskets under cylinder head, and all gaskets that were upper it. Also I have changed gasket between engine and exhaust system and I still have this noice. All gaskets were bought from mercedes dealer. Also I have changed chain. From what I have read in internet it also can be Camshaft adjuster. I left the old one because price of original was around 500 euro for one item. So if you are gonna try to do something with this noice probably you should change all that. The easy and chepest solution is drive always in sport mode. When you drive in sport mode you usually have more than 1500rpm and in my case i have this noice only between 1000-1500rpm.

Hey, guys. I am a member of this noise problem club too. Because I was having a rattling noise on the first 2-3 seconds in the morning when I first started the engine I changed the entire timing kit, with the cam adjusters, vacuum pump and oil cooler( the last 2 were leaking oil). Besides this, I also had the noise at 1500rpm when the engine was hot but I thought it was due to the timing chain. But now, I changed everything I said above and I still have both the sound when I first start the engine and the 1500rpm sound. Do you have also the first time starting noise too?
