Has anyone ever replaced the light bulb inside the command system or climate knobs?

Hi, so my interior button lighting is not working for any of my radio/keypad buttons and my two climate control knobs that are above the radio. Today I took out my command system and the vents above and made sure all the wires were snug and they all were, so at this point im believing its either a fuse or the lightbulbs themselves have gone out. I have looked all over YouTube to try and find a video of someone replacing the light bulbs that light up these buttons but have no had any luck! I can't believe im like the only person with this problem. Has anyone ever tried to replace these light bulbs? Or does anyone else have any suggestions on what I should do to fix this? Let me know, thank you!

You're right this is fairly unusual.
Are these actual bulbs in your particular unit or LED's.

Climate control is a lot easier to work with than COMAND countless screws...

Let's have a look: can you pls post a pic about this?

thanks for responding, here's an older pic I have. Notice how the top left vent control knob is illuminated but the right is not, however since taking this pic the left knob has also stopped lighting up!

VOLTAGE SPIKES ???

Scope:
I see, thing is new bulbs will look brighter than old ones. So you may endup doing the whole center section or piece by piece complete unit.

Test:
Remove the air vents to test if "bulbs" are bad or if it's a harness issue.

How many miles on this beauty?

Is your voltage regulator good or short brushes generating end of life surges ? These bad bulbs maybe telling you something else is going on!!

Took out the air vents yesterday, unplug them plug them back in still no luck

There are 95,000 miles on this bad boy been happening since around 80 though

Bought the car used. Can’t remember the last time the lights were on. Don’t know if they ever were besides that one air vent knob. My battery needs to be replaced though, cars been dying after the key has been turned with no engine after about five minutes replacing that soon this week.

How do I check the voltage regulator or check for end of life surges? Let me know thank you
