Hello all, hoping someone can help me out. I'm pretty sure I have a leak at my oil filter housing. I did a bunch of searching and I have found plenty of videos and writeups on how to replace the seals or the housing itself, however all of the images and videos I find look completely different than my vehicle. They all show the cooler directly attached to the housing right next to the oil filter. My car doe snot have this, please see the attached picture. Does any have any resources for the housing I have? Oil filter and housing.
Here is the only examples I can find. This shows a smaller oil filter cap, as well as a cooler attached to the side of the housing, which mine does not have. I'll post a pic with my oil filter removed shortly.
I've been struggling to find any info for it. Every 2013 I look up seems to be the M272? When my wife was driving it yesterday it threw the serpentine belt so i picked one up today, which was the wrong size because advance only has the one engine code for them. Took forever to find the correct serpentine belt diagram as well, finally found one here:https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...tine-belt.html.
Belt is fixed now, so next step is to figure out the correct replacement for the oil filter housing and the steps to replace it. Hopefully someone here can point me in the right direction, In the meantime I will continue my google searching.
In your original photo the bright pipe runs down to the oil cooler which is located behind the AC compressor.
The oil filter housing screws into the timing case and is an integral part of it.

Thanks for this - so My guess is the leak is either one of these hoses, or the at the cooler/cooler gasket. Looking at the diagram I assume I will need to remove the power steering reservoir to get to the oil cooler? I'll revise my searching to look for more details with the replacement procedure for this. The good news is I do not see any oil in the coolant, it is just leaking into the engine bay.
