Limp mode w204 2013 Turbocharger fault p024872
Hi all,
I have a mercedes benz w204 c220 2013. When I was driving at the highway it felt like my car lost power and wouldn’t exceed 3000rpm. It isgoi g into limp mode. This plays a month now. It happens every day where it looses power and has slow acceleration. The scan gives the next fault: “p024872, Component Low-Pressure turbocharger has an electrical fault. The actuator does not close.”.
Could someone help me and give advice on what I should do or tell the mechanic to solve the problem?
SOLVED!!!
Many times later I found the problem. I checked for leaks like the advise: did not help.
Later we checked all connectors and sensors to the turbo and foundthat nothinf was wrong with them.
We thought, maybe air is leaking. Checked for the pressures in the turbo: everything normal.
What I found on youtube was that the valves/actuator of the turbo could not close completely. So I replaced those with new ones and then it worked like it ised to. Power was back.
these were the forums that helped me (in dutch):

This video helped me a lot: https://youtu.be/8BjL0o0xP5U
But not longer, it happened 1 time again. This time it was not the turbo. There was no fault code on the scan. We did not know where it was from. It did not happen anymore. Most probably it was from the particulate filter. What you then can do is fill your tank with v power diesel (if your car is diese) and go drive for 30-60 minutes constantly with 3000-3500 RPM on the 3rd or 4th gear. You will burn out most of the bad stuff in the filter. This will clean your filter (but probably bad for the environmwnt). You could also replace the filter.
