I tried two sets of LED on low beam. First set was two-sided LEDs that had some dark spots, not good but brighter than the factory halogen bulbs. It was cheap so didn't last long.
Second set was six-sided, much like halogen filament, no dark spot very bright, the beam pattern is nearly the same as halogen bulb, ideal. However, one LED only lasted like a little over a year. I put factory bulb back for now. Both sets were low priced maybe that is why their quality were not good.
I'd think H7 type has its own issue compared to other types. H7 does not have a tight seal around its base, therefore, the bulb should be in a tight sealed housing, making it difficult for heat to dissipate. My van has 9006 type LEDs installed one year before my C class, and is still working fine; 9006 bulb cooling fan is outside the light housing much better to dissipate the heat into space under the hood.
I wonder if I don't put headlight housing lid on the H7 LED will last much longer. If my theory is correct, no matter how high quality the H7 LED, it will fail sooner than other types of LED bulb.

Best solution is to retrofit some bixenon projectors. A little expensive and very time-consuming but well worth the effort

My ride came stock with halogens. I swapped to some after market headlights and put some H7LEDs and I got great light out put with way better visibility. I then swapped to a different style headlight which switched it to a H11 bulb and it's still better than stock, but I got way better visibility with the other headlights and H7s.
I could be a ***** and aim my headlights for my own personal liking and see the road lit up more, but I'm not that ***** to blind everyone on the road.
