Question for those who carry a full size spare
How do you secure the plastic basket that holds the jack?
The basket no longer reaches the plastic threaded shaft/post that used to secure it by screwing it down.
I'm wondering if a shaft/post from a W212 will work. I used to carry a full spare in my W212 and was still able to screw the basket down to secure it.

Q: do you have not OEM wheels? Perhaps the offset is too much compared to OEM?
The basket should work when you get a flat and the original wheel in while driving to the tire shop. I am certain you put the wheel face down.

I have Brabus Monoblock R wheels that have an offset of ET 50. The wheel is face down but the basket doesn't reach the threads.
I don't think the dimensions are too different than OEM but I guess different enough

I have original wheelson the W212, ET48, and full spare on identical alloy wheel. Basket fits properly with a few turns to get it tight.
I went To check, and the post measures 3 3/8 inches tall on its own.
Also found out my basket was loose, so time to tighten it.

Forgot to mention I removed the Styrofoam pad as well so the lid will close flush
