W204 Steering Lock
Good morning. I am replacing my Steering Lock with an Emulator. The Steering Lock failed in the open position, if I leave the lock in place and do not remove it, what are the chances of it locking by itself ?
Any advice would be appreciated.

not recommended. There is that small chance it could lock back up and hopefully, not while you are driving. Although by the numbers/odds, unlikely, but possible.
I replaced mine with the emulator as well. Since you're already reaching in and removing the wire for the Emu to hook into, you may as well take out the bad part. And I apologize but when you say it is "open", I am assuming you are saying it's unlocked.
