Won’t start

I have a 2013 c300. Up to date on maintenance. New battery. I can go to work, no problem. My car will sit for 4-5 hours in the heat maybe 90-100degrees. (Today is only 78 but humid and full sun). When i go to start the car it won’t start. If i let it sit for a little bit after i try a few times it will eventually start. Anyone else have this issue???

Does the dash light up at all when you put the key into the ignition? If not, it sounds like your ESL (electronic steering lock) module may be going bad (a small dc motor inside wears down and eventually fails to operate). Lots of posts about ESL failure/repair; you can fix it yourself if you're inclined for about $10 (new motor), but not sure how long those new motors last...

I don’t know how to respond to your comment but anyway that’s what we are assuming it is. We are going to put in an emulator instead of fixing ESL. That’s what a lot of people recommend to do. Hopefully it works Thank you for your response
