Battery replacement
Hi,
On my 2008 C200K I have just replaced the failing motor in the ESL, at the same time I replaced the car battery and also the key fob batteries.
My questions are:
1- Do I need to connect it in to a factory Star machine to let the car know there is a new battery installed so it can up the charging rate?
2- Will the fault codes associated when it was intermittently not starting (due failed ESL motor) be wiped when the battery was disconnected or do they get kept and now need clearing?

When I replaced the battery in my 2010 C300 with a new mercedes battery I didnt have to do anything, just connect it and go. Did not have to reset or reprogram anything, even radio stations and window operation. I never had any check engine lights from the dead battery. When I used an cheap obd reader awhile after just for fun there were no codes stored, but I recently bought a Foxwell NT530 and when trying it out there were a bunch of stored codes, I just erased them all and nothing has come back since.
