Where does the hood latch wire zip tie to in the front

Fantastic title,

I'm having issues with my front passenger hood latch unlatching, and it's because the wire doesn't have enough tension. It's supposed to be connected in 2 places, by zip tie, to some plastic item. (Technically 3, in the middle of the air intake cover if I remember correctly.)

Does anyone know where those 2 plastic parts are that they are zip tied to?

Thanks

Mines had some front end work so may not be original but included photos of what it looks like. Works perfect no issues. Just 3 zip ties, one on the right, the middle, and the left side.

Left side at the latch.

Middle.

Right side (drivers side).

Perfect, I guess that front plate is where those 2 end brackets broke off for me. Purchased a replacement. Thanks for your help!

Those zip tie points are usually part of the front radiator support (slam panel) and air intake ducting. The cable is routed through small factory plastic clips on those assemblies to maintain tension. If they’ve come loose or are missing, you’ll need to follow the release cable along the front structure and reattach it to the same clip points on the radiator support or intake shroud.

Looks like there are tabs in the fan shroud where the cable snaps in to. Maybe my cable wasnt staying put and they added zip ties. No idea.

There is a fastener for the cable along the drivers fender area.

They’re zip tied to molded tabs on the air intake box and a plastic support near the front hood/frame area. There’s usually another guide point along the intake cover as well. If the original tabs are hard to spot, just follow the cable routing and secure it to nearby plastic mounts so the cable housing stays fixed and keeps proper tension.

Check along the upper radiator support behind the grille and near the headlight mounts that’s where those plastic cable guides are usually clipped or zip-tied. The middle one you mentioned is typically on the air intake cover. If tension is low one of those retainers is likely missing or broken so trace the cable from the latch back and you should spot where it’s sagging or out of place.
