Need some help or advice
Hello I'm new here because I don't have a w204 I have a w211 but I'm trying to help a friend out. I won't get the car for a few days to run diagnostic. But I kinda wanted to have a idea of what I might be looking at. These are the symptoms they are having
2014 250c sport,4 cylinder turbo, sometimes hesitation to start and white smoke out exhaust especially cold starts in the morning, doesn't smoke during driving or on warm starts after driving
Any help would be appreciated thank you

White smoke is often a coolant leak from a cracked head or blown head gasket. Check to see if the coolant is low or he has had to add coolant regularly. If so, follow up with a Block Tester: https://a.co/d/6kolLvF
White smoke at startup can be from oil leaking into the cylinders overnight and burning off when he starts.
Hesitating starting can be caused by low compression in one or more cylinders (such as from a cracked head). It will take several times trying to start the car for the metal in the head to expand and squeezing the crack enough to get sufficient compression.
Lastly, it could be caused by a blown turbo depending on how the turbine shaft is lubricated and the amount of wear. But in such cases, I would not expect the smoke to stop after getting started.
Hope I'm wrong, but this sounds like a mechanical issue. How many miles are on the car?

W204s are great cars, but with M271 not the “forever” cars that the W211s are.
Is there any rattling or diesel sounding noise on startup? Rattling + hard starting could be the start of failed camshaft adjusters. That’s not uncommon on M271 and may still be covered under extended warranty.
White “smoke” before warm up could be just incidental, but maybe not.
After you get the car, list the obvious symptoms and scan for DTCs, maybe run a compression test (very easy on M271) and let us know what you find.
