Is there a way to remove the Parking Lights feature?

Im sure people are familiar with the infamous passenger side parking lights flashing on and off at night while the car is parked. Im curious is there is a way to turn this feature off with a scanner? Either disable the feature or disable that part of the switch.

Mine isnt really a bad issue. Once in awhile ill look on my security camera monitor and see the parking light on. I have the Wyze V3 cameras which has incredible low light viewing, so the parking light on really stands out and cant miss it on. Ill just go out to the car, put the key to on, turn the light switch all the way counter clockwise then to off again and that usually fixes it for the night. I also noticed that doing this before shutting the car off after driving will usually keep the parking light off.

Mostly im concerned about the light coming on while parked at stores at night. It looks silly. Its happened a few times now.

I would love to open the switch up and try to see what exactly the issue is, but dont want to screw it up more since replacements are expensive. I dont come across many of my specific switch. Maybe i should just by a cheap one and take that apart at least to see how it works.

The idea of trying to disable it just popped in my head so figured id ask around. I have a Foxwell scanner with Mercedes software but really havent played around or know how to use it.

My switch has the two parking light settings on the left, pull once for front fogs, pull again for rear fog light.

Could be a bad switch. Not sure what they cost.

I am curious if you have the problem with them in the Automatic (A) position. I do not think it is a coding thing, though I know the DRLs can be turned off through the option menu.

Ive read alot of posts from people having the same issue. Its just odd with how the light will be fine, but then out of the blue will turn on. It will either turn on then off, sometimes it blinks, sometimes it stays on. If it were the switch one would think the parking light would turn on as soon as you switch the lights to off, but no. Could be fine for days.

The "fix" is to leave the switch in the Auto setting. Its no big deal.

Ive come across a new switch but its over $200. I wouldn't feel comfortable buying a used one since it may have the same issue.

I was just wondering if there's a way to completely turn the function off. Kind of like you said how you can turn the DRL function off and on, or play around with the interior lights when unlocking the car.

For $200, I'd leave it in the Auto position. On the newer cars, there is no "Off" position, just Auto (A).

(By the way, the picture shows the item no longer available.)
