Interior Code 118A VS 128A

Im was looking around for front seats and came across a listing for one that looks the same as mine. I asked the seller for the VIN and when I looked it up the interior color code is different than mine. Are there really different shades of light gray between 2010 and 2013? I know 118A is Alpaca Gray, but cannot seem to find what 128A exactly is. Im also finding different model Mercedes having totally different color codes for there Alpaca Gray interior.

My car is 2010 C 300 4matic Sport with Codes:

- 100A IMITATION LEATHER
- 118A IMITATION LEATHER-GRAY

The other car is a 2013 C 250 CGI with codes:

- 100A IMITATION LEATHER
- 128A IMITATION LEATHER-GRAY

I mainly ask because when I search around for new seat covers im finding websites claiming the "Gray" seats will fit 2008-2014 C 300s.

This is making no sense. 2012+ C300s have the 128A interior color code. 2011 and below have the 118A interior color code. Wondering if Mercedes decided to just change the color code but its the same color. I found a listing for a passenger seat for a good price. It looks filthy but these seats are very easy to clean up, I used one of those magic eraser sponges with plain water and it removed everything. I dont recommend using it all the time, but for a deep cleaning it works wonders. I also realized the passenger and drivers seat covers are interchangeable, maybe not all of them but most. I compared the part #s for left and right seat covers and they are the same on my diagrams, cover only though.

Went searching for the brochures to see which color options were available for the different model years. Looks like 2012 they call the light gray color "ash". The only other year I could find where they list the specific gray color is 2009 where its called Alpaca. Other years im finding they just call it gray. Probably have to make a trip to the dealer to find out what the difference is. I really want the seat I found.

I just found the 2008 they called it "Reef" grey. I did notice on 2008 VIN #s the int color code for grey is 108.

2008 Brochure

2009 Brochure.

2010 Brochure.

2011 Brochure.

2012 Brochure.

I called the dealer yesterday and spoke with someone, they were supposed to call me back after looking in to it but never heard back. Looks like I may have to just go there.

Looks like the E-Class listed the light grey as Alpaca in 2010.

I also stumbled upon the supposed parts list/diagram for a 2013 C250 that seems to show Alpaca as the correct seat color.

So far the only thing i found out that im sure of is that the drivers and passenger side seat covers are interchangeable, but only the covers. Not sure about the padding or metal bucket parts below. i also noticed on my seat the sticker label has alot of info, the numbers show the option codes of the car.

The U10 is for weight sensing code, the 050 is for AEJ 09/2 (whatever that code is), 221 is electronically adjustable and so on.

Think I found my answer. The seats are the same color 2008-2014 even though the interior color codes are not the same. (118A vs 128A)

Im looking just at non-leather seats, since I don't have leather.

What im finding is part #s for two different style seat covers. One seat cover is listed as "Standard" and does not have seat heating. The other, I'm guessing is the Avantgarde, has seat heating.

- Part number for the Standard seat is 2049107946. This style seat just has 2 panels.

- Part number for the Avantgarde, heated seat is 2049109146. This style has 3 panels.

Then they have additional #s on the end of the part numbers above for the different colors. Im finding 3 colors, there may be more or different numbers for leather.

- 9D88 Black.
- 8P26 Almond.
- 7H23 Alpaca Gray.

I ended up finding the part #s on eEuroparts. Photos of the seat covers is limited, i could only find a few. But I think it confirmed what I was looking for.

Heres the standard 2 panel seat cover, no heating.

Heres a photo of the Black 2049109146 seat cover. has the 3 panels and heated.
