Question W204 C200 engine swap with C250

I bought 2012 C200 with a manual transmission 2 years ago. It has 300k km on it and it has very poor performance (doesn't feel like it has 180~ hp).

So, I found a used engine M271 that has 60k km on it but it's taken off from C250. My question is will there be a problem despite the C200 and C250 having exact same engine?

Even If I swap, can I keep the current manual transmission? I won't even bother if I can't.

The car is pretty heavy. If performance is why you're doing it, go big.

This is what I can afford so far. I was thinking of ECU remapping and changing the downpipe after the swap. Do you think it's not worth it? All will cost me around $3,500

Should be a drop in swap. (Haven’t done it, I had C250 with 7GTronic auto). If you use the C200 ECU, you will need to load the C250 engine control version. If you use the C250 ECU, you will need to train it to the components up in the car, ABS/ESC, head unit, EIS, etc. The C250 engine version carries the W204 fairly well in factory tune because it has about 15% more torque than the C200 variant. Minor tuning can get to calculated gross 250 HP on rear wheel dyno without other mods (200 HP at wheels). Manual transmission should be a bonus if you keep the revs up, single stage turbo struggles below 1500 RPM.

3,500 for a little more power is a lot of money that would be better spent. Unless you really love your ride, I'd reconsider, but it's your call.

I once did a tranny swap in a 1999 Audi A4 quattro from an automatic to a manual transmission. It became a real pain in the *** because the tranny mounts were different AND the crankshaft was different between the automatic and manual transmission cars. The mechanic finally got it all working, but something you should watch for. Also, I don't know if the final drive ration is different. Not saying this would happy with a Mercedes, but it did with the Audi. Maybe you can get confirmation that the crankshafts between the C200 and C250 are the same.

The M271 is the same in the C180/200/250.
only the ECU mapping is different - 155/184/204 bhp respectively.
I believe even the IHI turbo is mostly the same.
it will say so on the build sheet Code M013 Reduced Performance where applicable.
