Headlight tun off and on randomly (new led installed)
Hi,
I replaced my headlights with a set of new LED lights. I put 2 different sets to compare them and I noticed they started turning off and then they would turn back on. I started driving around to see if it would change or if I could pick up a pattern but nothing. They are very random. These are the 2 different types that I'm using. Does anyone know what could be causing this?
FAHREN H7 LED Bulbs, 30000LM 800% Brighter H7 LED, Real 1:1 6500K Cool White H7 LED Lights IP68 Waterproof Halogen Replacement, Quick Installation, Pack of 2
SANHE H7 LED Headlight Bulb, 24000LM 6500K Cool White, Upgrade 500% Super Bright, No Adapter Required Plug and Play, Pack of 2

Given the price, and the fact they're aftermarket, I'm guessing the error is with the chinesium lamps or their compatibility with the existing system. Since you're probably in a small pool that would have actually tried these, I'd be interested to see what responses you'd get.

Did you get this figured out? Having the same with some Suparee LEDs in my wife's C300. Debating whether to try a resistor for it or go back to halogen.

I installed an HID kit in my H7 low beams and went with one that has some type of can-bus module with it. Im assuming led bulbs would require a similar set-up. When I search H7 led bulbs I see they offer two accessories for it, can-bus or load cancellers. I dont know if they are the same thing just different names, or if they function differently.

Someone mentioned the led bulbs being long and the dust cover wont fit back on. Ive seen they have extended dust covers. Ive never used them so no idea how they fit. Heres an example:

No flicker or anything. but the issue is when I put the metal holster thing it doesn't keep the lights up. So over time they end up pointing down or moving and I don't know how to keep them pointing forward. I also wish i could get something brighter. I still have a hard time seeing in front of me and I cleaned my headlights with the SYLVANIA - Headlight Restoration Kit

What metal holster thing?
When I was installing my hid bulbs it was a pain. Mine has wire type holders. Have to make sure the notches in the base of the bulb line up perfectly in the housing or else the bulb will be off, even off by a little will throw the beam patter way off i noticed. Took my a few tries before finally getting it right. Plus the bases on those bulbs look thicker than a regular H7 bulb base. Maybe that is throwing things off.

The little metal thing that clips everything in. The light fits into the housing but after a little driving it becomes a little loose and when I go to check it, it has moved a little and the light is pointing down or has moved a bit. If that metal thing was a little closer to the led light or had a little padding on the sides it would hold it perfectly.
I am also using the same lights as my high beam without any issues. I tried other brands and these have been pretty bright and working without issues.

I checked out these led bulbs and the bases do look similar to the halogen H7 base. And if they work in the high beam it should be the same in the low beam. Take a few photos and post them, maybe we can figure out whats wrong.

LED bulbs do not give good results. They need resistance or canbus to work, they lose luminosity quickly and honestly...they don't illuminate more than a halogen one. For me the solution was to change the optics for a non-original brand, just one, that was enough to have extra lumens on the road, maybe in a while I will install the one from another side
