Won’t shift out of park and other issues

Ok so I was working on a 2008 c300 that would move through all gears but not engage transmission. Took shifter out and see it was not connected to rod. Connect to rod and put everything back together and now it won’t shift out of park unless I manually do with by pressing yellow piece. All connectors are plugged in. I don’t hear the brake click, the lights no longer display the gear at the shifter and for some reason the wipers not headlights don’t come on. Not sure if they are related or not. Any help is much appreciated. I was helping my mechanic friend and I hope didn’t mess up one of his customers car. 😔

There is a lockout cable that runs from the shifter to the ignition switch. The cable is on the opposite side of the yellow tab. Maybe check that to see if its installed right.

Thank you for your reply. I only took the shifter out and reconnected rod to transmission back. It was working before I took it out/loose. I wish I would’ve known I could reconnected from under car possibly.
