High oil consumption

Hello everyone

i need your help i have an high oil consumption 1liter for 1250 miles on my w204 c-class OM642 136 700miles, im sure there is no oil leak and no DTC in Xentry Diag, I seen a lot of cause for this problem:

- Housing oil filter (apparently there is a spring and valve inside to regulate if high pressure)
- PCV valve
- Turbo
- Piston ring

but I dont know how can I Check them to be sure… do you know if to first i need to Check the compression pressure with a glow plug adapter to know if this is the piston ring ? Because if this is the piston ring engine is dead ;(

i recorded a video, to Check smoke in oil but i dont know if its normal or not.

thank you and sorry for my english

Hello, it seems like enough, but even so it may not be a sufficient diagnosis for high consumption.
Is that cold or hot?
When steeling, does that smoke increase?
I usually release the PCV tube and cover it with my hand for 15 seconds. If the pressure builds up, it could be another piece of evidence that indicates a sealing defect in the pistons.

I assume this is a new development? Mercedes does not consider 1 liter per 1250 miles excessive, only if it is more than 1 liter per 600 miles, which I think is more than excessive. That said, how does the car run otherwise? Are there other signs of excessive oil burning? If not, you may just want to consider adding oil every 1250 miles as an operating expense. I'm sure that will be much cheaper than a new engine.

The Operators Manual talks about engine oil consumption, based on driving style etc. Look under "Engine Oil" in the book.

My W204 has 150,000 miles, I think I put around 700 miles a year on it, and I may add a little, maybe 1/4-1/2 quart just to top it off between oil changes which I do every 12 months.

Back to oil leaks, its not uncommon for the oil filter housing to leak.

Hello, engine hot

What do you mean when you say « when steeling » thank you

today I removed rear exhaust turbo to see if there is oil or burned oil, in the intake I never seen lot of oil like the vidéo:

if this is piston ring or cylinder leak it should have oil in exhaust ?
