I have a Mercedes CLK 320 (W209) that has been in winter storage for about 7 months and I'm looking to perform a "cold crank" to build up the engine pressure and lubricate the internals before actually starting it.
I want to ensure the engine is properly lubricated by turning it over with the starter motor without firing it up a little better for the bearings i have read.
What would be the best way to disable the ignition system to prevent the engine from starting while I do this? And of course a safe way![Wink](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Thanks in advance for your advice!

Not sure how much fuel pressure would be there since the cars been sitting for months.
I personally would just start the thing. Doesn't the car need to be running to build oil pressure?

No the oil pump is mechanical so cranking will make it throw oil however i think it takes a while to build oil pressure this way and it is not the goal its more to lube the engine before full spin...
