I would probably buy a used one off ebay. I personally have good luck buying used Mercedes parts off ebay but I do my research and wouldnt just buy off anyone. Looking quick can get a TC for around $200, trans for less than a thousand and even cheaper if you find someone for local free pickup.

Im in New England so local salvage yards arent the best since the parts arent in the best condition.

 

Just a thought. Do your your research on how to marry that new transmission to the rest of the car. I'd sort the mechanics of that first before buying anything.

 

Give these people a call. I've not used them, but did look into them a while back. The price seems fair since freight is included both ways.
