W203 is still good . it is hard to choose which is the best. yes W204 has more sharp view and more tech features but W203 is shinning still.
more changes in this segment is too difficult . BMW 3 series Audi A4 and MB C do not radical change Autospy says '' Bread and Butter '' this class for Manufacturers.

2001 to 2003 C Class Sport Coupe, these were the only years where you could acquire your sport coupe in the very fitting "Lime Green" color, which actually in my opinion is both unique and looks good on the Sport Coupe body style.
2002, C32 AMG is out. The most competition the BMW M3 has ever faced.
2003, first C230 Kompressor Sport Sedan introduced in US market. Creates new chapter in Mercedes-Benz sales volume.
2004.5 C230 Kompressor Sport Sedan is special because it has the 4 piston brakes along with the large cross drilled rotors.
2005 is special because of the AMG body kit available on the Sport Sedans and because of the face lift, this year is however odd because although all 2005 Sport Sedan models have the large cross drilled front brakes but some have the 4 piston calipers and some have the two piston calipers. I presume the 4 piston calipers were leftovers from last year. I know of one lucky forum member with an 05 who got the 4 piston calipers.
Also, updated interior/exterior of the "Luxury Sedans".
2006, new engines and transmission offerings. While the C230 is under constant debate on which engine is better (they're both about the same to me), the C280 is dramatically different from the C240 and the C350 is also very different from the C320.
2007, the final iteration of the W203 C Class.
This is all I can think of at the moment. But the W203 C Class has had a good run!

i love my w203 and i'll wait until i see a w204 up close and personal before judgement. shoot, i might as wait until i start seeing modded w204s.
i'll see it here on the forum sooner than later
However, somehow I ended up acquiring a 2005 model year vehicle since the BMW 2005 E46 3 series was in its last year of production. And, as a young person, the BMW's insurance was also noticeably higher than the equivalent Mercedes-Benz vehicle's insurance fees.
Now, that my insurance is dramatically reduced (after driving for nearly two years), I would consider acquiring a BMW as my next vehicle except the somewhat controversial styling isn't pushing my buttons. I don't dislike it like some "anti-Bangle" fans, however, I don't favor it either. Thus, Japanese vehicles (such as the Infiniti G, Lexus IS, and even Subaru Impreza) have all of a sudden become something of an interest.
He just brought his car in this past week for his 1st Service A and the ML Service A is $600 bucks (4X's C Class service A) at the stealership! Luckily, he makes good enough money to have no problem, but after he told me my exact reply was, "see, I warned you."

Now, I've never heard of an A service costing $600. $600 for an A service seems excessive since the Maserati "A" service (they don't really call it that but it's equivalent to an A service with more fluid changes) is $600.
I did the service A early (before 13000 miles) because I didn't drive the car 13,000 miles in the first year.
I hope your friend reads the fine print and listens to your advice in the future. If he was a mutual friend, I'd tell him, "Drex knows everything there is to know about cars, his word supercedes the salesperson's word."
As for me, I went in knowing that the car didn't include the scheduled service, but I was willing to take the service hit over the depreciation of the E46 3 series and the fact that the 3 series costs much more to insure.
However, since my insurance is going down dramatically, for my next vehicle, I would probably prefer something with included maintenance (such as BMW). At that time, I'll tell my service manager to start looking for a job at the dealership next door (which happens to be a BMW dealership).
I'm still a long ways away before acquiring my next vehicle, however, between the C55 and the M3, I would probably be more enticed by the M3 now (although in the past I prefered the C55). Still, the SMG paddle shift is a bit unsmooth during upshifting in normal driving.
For me, since I'm still too far away to my next vehicle (the models then might not be the same ones now), I don't know what I plan to acquire. However, I do plan on acquiring a compact (possibly midsize) rear wheel drive sport sedan type car as my next vehicle.
Yes indeed, I agree, the previous ML did leave something to be desired.
I also find myself often giving advice on what vehicle to acquire. Sometimes I find that I'm not always listened to either.

The SMG can be very smooth once you've had some time to figure out how to adapt. You're probably right about it being too far out to the next vehicle but I like to plan ahead and keep my options open. The new M3/M4 should be out by then along with the C63 and Skyline (yes I said it
). Or who knows, maybe I'll call it quits for a while. The main thing is that I'd like to something with 4 doors.
