2010 C300 Manual Brake Hold Issue
I have a 2010 C300 Luxury manual transmission. The brake hold function keeps activating unwantedly. My rear rotors have glowed orange a couple times because it does not disengage while driving. I do not stomp hard on the gas pedal because apparently this is how you engage this feature? Is it a calibration issue? Has anyone else encountered this? I had the brake system disassembled and serviced. Help please. There is no light in the dash that signals the feature is on.

If the HOLD indicator is not on in the instrument cluster, the ECU does not think the brakes are engaged.
There may be another issue with the brake system, like debris in the lines causing the rear brakes not to release fully. Or the parking brake may be adjusted incorrectly.
Were the brakes serviced by Mercedes or an independent familiar with Mercedes vehicles? My experience with national brake repair chains that do well on domestic and Japanese models is very poor on Mercedes and BMW.
The car should be scanned for brake/ABS/ESP system errors, then physical diagnostics can be continued.
