Reset ECU using Creader Elite
I have a 2014 C250 and woudl like to reset the ECU. I also have a Launch Creader Elite. I seems like the Creader aught to be able to do it but I find the documentation to be very scarce. Does anyone know if it can be done and how?
The background is that the HPFP got replaced and I am having some random misfires. The mechanic I am working with has a few different ideas and resetting the ECU is one of them. But he cannot do it. So I want to at least give it a try and woudl prefer not to have to take it to a dealer.

How about using the Launch CReader to see if there are any stored DTCs in ignition and fuel modules? Replacing the HPFP should not be the primary source of misfires.
Just personally, resetting the ECU is NOT something I would want to ”give a try” as my first step, especially after a mechanic has declined to do it.

Maybe. I've cleared codes, but I don't think that is what you are asking. Disconnecting the ECU module may or may not reset it. Not just a battery disconnect but removing the data cables to it. You may want to first check the fuel pump control module (N118).

There are some resets you can do with regards to cold start and running adaptation values using XENTRY, but I would consult with @BenzNinja prior to messing around with stuff. Regardless, be sure to make backups of all settings before changing them.

I am getting random misfires. Mainly for a period of time when it starts until it warms up a bit. And then seemingly randomly while driving. They are not constant nor do they seem to correspond to any particular action like speeding up or something repeatable. Other than that it drives well and there was a definite improvement when the pump was replaced.

I am getting P030X codes. But it is not consistent which cylinders. As in I can clear it and which ones misfire changes. But more it is inconsistent. Other than when warming up it seems pretty random when driving.
